Introducing BEAR's Nutritionist, Christianna!

As a mum and nutritionist I know all too well the importance of how we feed our cubs. I also know it’s not always easy to make food choices, thanks to the ever growing and sometimes contradicting world of nutrition literature. Add children to the mix who are still figuring out what they like – it can be challenging!

In my nutrition clinic, I often work with parents who are confused about how to best nourish their little ones, so in my BEAR articles I will be covering some of these topics. I hope to provide useful information, simple guidance and easy, tasty ideas on how to make informed food decisions for your little cubs.

Before studying nutrition, I worked in mental health for many years and the relationship between how we feel and how we eat was something I always found fascinating, and regularly explore in my current work. This is particularly important when it comes to children, because how they feel about the food that is presented to them and various other factors - like whether the plate is their favourite shade of yellow -  will have a big impact on them choosing to eat it or not. When it comes to food and developing a healthy relationship with food; fun is key for children! And it’s up to us to make it fun; chop things in different shapes, make eating interactive, use fun tableware, get them involved, have themed food nights…. it’s often the game changer with the children I work with.

This is why I love brands like BEAR, who embody my food philosophy that healthy food is fun and delicious – this is what they’re all about! Creating snacks that capture children’s imaginations, bring the fun factor but also goodness.

Another reason I love working with BEAR is that they make parents lives easier when it comes to deciding what to give their children; something I know can be so difficult in a world of confusing nutrition information. With BEAR, there’s no confusion; you can easily see that every one of their products is made with wholesome ingredients that we can feel good about. Looking at ingredients is something I often encourage my clients to do. BEAR proudly display their ingredients and this mama nutritionist is very happy to give them to her children – they’re a regular feature in our packed lunch boxes, as a snack or even part of breakfast.

I want to remind parents that we’re all doing our best; it’s a tough job! When it comes to feeding my children, I take it one day and one meal at a time. My food focus is always nutrition and giving my children balanced meals that will support healthy development, fuel their adventures but I also want it to be fun, so they learn to love healthy foods.

I hope my articles are enjoyable, informative and help you and your little ones eat happy and feel good!
